Awakening

This piece is a deeply personal milestone for me. I began with the wheel, allowing the clay to guide me into a simple, balanced form—a small, quiet base. But then, as I transitioned into hand building, I wanted to disrupt that symmetry. Each ridge, each upward curve is a testament to growth—an internal flower pushing toward the light. I made this during a late spring evening, when the air was still, and each movement in the studio carried a sense of possibility. This vase, to me, is the moment where structure meets freedom—a first bloom in a lifelong journey.
